Pediatric Dentistry

Being a parent is never easy. The teething process can be a bit of a nightmare and trying to make sure the little candy-sniffer-outers brush their teeth twice a day is anything but simple. At Nova Dental Care, our pediatric dentists are here to make your life just a little easier.

We also think dental visits should be fun. We remember back when we went to the dentist as kids, the only fun thing was hiding under a chair pretending it was a cave in hopes that the dentist wouldn’t find us. At Nova Dental Care, kids don’t hide from us because we give them more than a chair to play with. Kids get to watch movies before their dental appointment so they won’t be anxious. It also helps keep them searching for caves.

Every child should start seeing the dentist when their first tooth arrives. This way we are able to set a healthy course for the child’s teeth and at the same time save the parents from financial burdens and undue mental stress. Kids who don’t take care of their teeth, suffer from cavities, gum disease, and tooth pain, which result in costly dental procedures.

The goal of our pediatric dentists is to educate the parents and the kids on how to best protect their teeth. We are about preventative care so that the only time a child cries about their teeth is when they are teething, or when they are crying tears of joy because of how beautiful their teeth are.

Brushing twice per day and flossing every single day is pivotal for ensuring teeth and gums remain clean and healthy. But there is one more thing that must be done. Kids need their dental cleanings every six months. These dental cleanings knock out hard to remove plaque. Plaque buildup is a major cause of tooth decay because plaque creates a bacteria that breaks down enamel, simplifying the process to create cavities.

Along with breaking down plaque buildup, our dental team polishes teeth, removes harmful bacteria, and conducts thorough reviews of patients’ oral health. These exams enable the pediatric dentist to target potential problems. We utilize X-rays as well to see what can’t be seen with the naked eye.

Our dental office conducts every type of pediatric dental procedure to keep your kids’ teeth healthy and strong. Here are just some of the kids dental procedures we perform:

  • Dental cleanings
  • Dental crowns
  • Dental fillings
  • Dental sealants
  • Orthodontics (Braces)
